I am a Chartered Accountant, and hold a Public Practice Certificate with the NZ Institute of Chartered Accountants. I am also a Certified Practising Accountant with CPA Australia.

I have effective networks with Inland Revenue offices around the country, senior officials at the head offices of Inland Revenue and Treasury, Members of Parliament and many other business contacts.

With over 20 years in tax and business advisory roles, largely at senior levels, I have broad commercial knowledge, and extensive experience in interpreting and influencing tax policy, as well as applying it in practice.

I have had numerous articles published, and have presented at many seminars and conferences.

I am well-known to members of the NZ Institute of Chartered Accountants from my previous position as Institute Tax Director for eight years until October 2002. There I led a team representing members’ and the public interest in achieving major beneficial changes to the New Zealand tax system.
