IRD issues

 

Dealing with Inland Revenue is a major part of our business – and also of our clients – accountants, lawyers and taxpayers.

With 24 years of experience, our professional view is that IRD staff mainly do a reasonable job, sometimes under trying circumstances.

However when IRD ‘get it wrong’ they really get it wrong,

  • raising and sticking to unsustainable technical arguments,
  • dragging audits out for years when they should take a few weeks at most,
  • being extremely reluctant to acknowledge as such, and
  • signing up to very little in the way of measurable standards.
